Arizona Memorial
The naval park has a museum and a theater to give you lots of information
about what happened at Perl harbor and why the memorial exists. After
spending some time in the musuem, we saw a brief movie, then took a boat out to
the memorial.

The USS Bowfin...this submarine was called the Perl Harbor Avenger for sinking
so many Japanese ships during the war. It is roped up to the shore across
the water.

This is a shot of the floating pontoon bridge that allows traffic to Ford Island

This is the Arizona Memorial. There are over 1100 sailors burried at sea
beneath it. It does not touch the Arizona below. It stradles it like
a bridge.

This is part of a gun turret that still stands above the surface. The
brown area around it is the deck of the ship.

More of the ship from the Memorial

Here we are looking at a couple of modern destroyers parked at the harbor.

The USS Missouri is easily visible from the memorial
