This is a special tribute to the.....
.....memory
of the.....
.....no-accountin' greyhound
We're sorry to report that Bloke has passed on to that great pillow and
blanket in the sky. He was diagnosed on 1/31/04 with a devastating blood
disease that took him down in a matter of 5 days. He was the greatest dog
we ever knew and he'll live in our hearts forever. I never had a pet who
gave me so many laughs or so much companionship, especially in times of
loneliness. He was a personality that cannot be replaced. He loved
everyone and everyone loved him. We miss him dearly. He would have
been 8 years old in Feb '05. Though we are sad and devastated by the loss,
we are still proud and happy to have had the opportunity to know him.
Though he is gone, we still keep these pix to help us not to forget.

You'll notice that there are no pix of this amazing beast in
full flight with his ears pinned back and all fours in the air. Matter of
fact, they're almost all standing still or laying down. Well, don't let
anyone fool you. Why do think he doesn't run on the dog track anymore....
I've never even seen him chase the cat, let alone a squirrel or a rabbit!!
The cat's too smart for him anyway. In those few instances when he does
fly like the wind, it's usually right after getting out of the yard because
someone left the gate open. Don't get me wrong. He's a really good
dog. So what if he doesn't bark when a stranger comes to the door, or
fetch the stick, or learn any cool tricks like sit or speak. Cat's are
useless too!!! But that's another topic. Maybe someday Lucy will get
her face on the Internet.
Check out these short movie clips of the beast in action.
These clips are episodes from a typical day when we get home from work.
It's almost painful watch:
